Knitter Bunny's™ Dutch Rabbits and Yarns

Bunnies and Yarn, Need I Say More

Happy New Year and an Accounting!

2015 knitting designs

This was clearly a year of pattern designing for me!  25 new designs were released throughout 2015.  Socks, cowls, mitts, shawls, a tea cozy, and a Christmas Stocking for the last year.  There are new designs waiting in the wings, shawls, cowls, hats, scarves, mitts, and maybe some shrugs are in the future here.

I’ve dabbled in cables, lace, textures, embroidery, heels, toes, cast-ons, bind-offs, edgings, and weights.  What should I play with in 2016?  I’m asking my dear readers what patterns they would like to see from me in the coming months.  More lace? More shawls?  More socks?  What shall tickle your fancy for the next year?

Until I hear back from all of you, I’ll just offer a discount code.  Good until January 7, use code “yaybook” for 25% off all patterns on Ravelry!

Big News

hoppy feet collage

What did you think I would announce on the blog with that title? Perhaps, my news isn’t that big to some, but it’s HUGE news for me. I’m finishing my first pattern book.

Yes. I have taken the pattern writing very seriously this year, and the result of my hard work is my first pattern book of socks. I hope you’ll take a gander at my work, maybe pre-order an e-book through Ravelry or a print plus e-book through my shop (at a discount of course!), and rejoice with me over the independent publishing journey I am taking.

If you’re looking for kits, we still have most of the months in stock at BlackSheep, so feel free to order your favorite kit and check out all of the photos on Ravelry.

Shaggy Hat Sneak Peek

image

Here is a quick unblocked, unfinished sneak peek of the Shaggy Hat for the Scooby Doo in Tenceltown club.  If you recall, I’m designing patterns for all of the characters from the Scooby Doo cartoon, plus the mystery machine for the Knitting Boutique.

I’m really pleased with how this one looks and the scarf is coming along stunningly as well.  With any luck I’ll finish that one up next week.

A Year of Socks

So, this is still a knitting blog. It really is. In fact, I even manage to post some knitting once in a while. Like, today. Today I’m posting my photo (though it is a crappy one) of the 12 sock patterns I designed for the BlackSheep Hoppy Feet Sock Club. All 12 socks are now available and you can even order kits (which include an adorable bag) from BlackSheep.

I had so much fun planning and designing for the BlackSheep Hoppy Feet Sock Club. I used different heels, toes, cast-ons, bind-offs, and textures from start to finish. This is a great way to build your skills and explore different socks. Try one or all of them. 🙂

A bit more

Of that lovely golden shawl.

It’s coming.

It’s lovely.

And not for the faint of heart. This one is definitely an intermediate lace knit. Not really suitable for a rank beginner. Though, an advanced beginner could muddle through with a little help. This one is coming in a few weeks.

I just love the silk. Love the silk. Really, really love the silk. It is so soft and scrumptious and it feels so good on. I can’t quite get past how much I love this hand knit. I like all of my designs. I love a few of them. I covet a few of my samples, because I don’t often have the opportunity to keep my work. The pieces are always floating around and being admired by others. If I only had a little more knitting time in my day.
