I have so many apples right now that I decided to make a pie. When considering which pie to make, I thought, “what is in the cookbook?” Happily, my Aunt Bev had contributed a recipe for her Upside Down Apple Pie. I promptly set about making sure that I had all of the ingredients.
I had a bit of a worrisome moment when it was time to flip it. I tried to enlist Avi’s aid, but in the end I just held my breath and turned it as quickly as I could. Part of the problem was in not having a round platter big enough to cover the whole pie!
I turned it successfully and beheld a glorious pie. And delicious it was.
