Another of Grandma’s favorite recipes. I remember her making this in the summer every year. I don’t even really like cucumbers, but there is something about this dish that means I will eat it. Maybe it’s just the strong association with Grandma.
Sliced cucumbers (2-3 depending on size)
Thinly sliced onion (1 medium or several small)
3 cups water
3 cups sugar
1 cup vinegar
a little salt
Combine all ingredients and let sit in refrigerator for several days.
( Basic ratio is 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup vinegar and can be scaled up.)
