My friend Shandra came to visit and the first day that she was here I took her to Powell’s Books. It’s one of those Portland institutions that you have to visit once while in Portland. The bookstore is amazing. It’s huge, there are so many genres to explore, and you can easily lose yourself in the rows for hours.
The employees even give you helpful (and entertaining hints) about the books.
I also took Shandra to the International Rose Test Garden. Of course, it is in full bloom and just smells and looks delightful.
I also took her to Pearl Fiber Arts which is a lovely shop in the Pearl District. Then we dined at Supa for lunch. Delicious sandwiches and delightful soup. Then I took her to Uwajimaya in Beaverton. We ended our day at Black Sheep at Orenco for Handiwork Guild.
