Knitter Bunny's™ Dutch Rabbits and Yarns

Bunnies and Yarn, Need I Say More

Last Day for the Contest

If you haven’t figured it out already, I’ve a little contest running. I’m still accepting entries today. Pinterest pins, Facebook likes and shares, Ravelry designer likes, WordPress likes and comments, and any other social media method of spreading the word is valid for the contest.

Each mention gives you one entry. What am I giving away? A copy of each knitting pattern in my shop, plus any tatted item in the Etsy shop.

And, I’m offering 20% off in the Ravelry shop (discount taken at checkout) and 20% off the Etsy shop (code CONTEST) through June 1, 2014. I will announce the pattern winner on Sunday morning, so if you miss out on the pattern package, you can still snag something fabulous for 20% off. 🙂

There is a place here in Oregon called Honey Toast. It’s an odd little cafe that serves some Asian food, some sandwiches, shaved ice, ice cream, and these interesting desserts.

That little pile of sugar is toast, honey, vanilla ice cream, banana slices, chocolate sauce, and peanut crumbles. It really tastes very good, but I should point out that this is the petite version. Yeah. They make a bigger version of this. It looks kind of like a cube of toast with the other things in the middle.

The peonies are just starting to bloom. They are always pretty and remind me of my Grandma Slack. She loved peonies even when they were full of ants. I remember her shaking them out before bringing cut flowers in the house. There would still be ants crawling out of the blooms onto the table, even with a good shaking.

This plant has gone crazy. I haven’t a clue as to what kind it is, but the blooms are very pretty and they smell great.

The roses are really starting to open as well.  I’m frantically drying the petals for my brother’s wedding in October.

And I finally planted my herbs in the front.  I marked the photo so I wouldn’t forget where I planted what. 🙂

Sock Hunter Episode 91: Amongst the Flowers

~~Don’t forget the contest. You have until May 31, 2014 to spread the word. And 20% off the shop with code CONTEST.~~

Days and days may pass in which a sock hunter finds naught but sock tracks. The elusive patterning of stitches in a bit of loam or sand. The brush of wool against leaves. These subtle signs may be all that sustain a sock hunter for days.

Thus, the flash of a pair of socks is always welcome. Carefully stalked and carefully photographed; I found a delightful pair of *Greater Long-Necked Blue Footed Socks.  These socks are best known for their love of flowering shrubs.  Often found in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, these socks feed during the day and can often be caught napping in the late afternoon.

Working quietly, I snapped several photos of the socks in their natural habitat.

Leaving them undisturbed, I crept back to my sock **blind. Until next time, this is your Sock Hunter, signing off.

Happy Anniversary to ME (and You).

This blog (though not started on this platform), has been around for 8 years now.  Blogs are kind of old news now, but I appreciate my readers and so, there is a contest.

You’ll like this one.  Leave a comment on this post.  Or share this post in whatever media you like (and tell me about it).  Or even email me with all of the ways you helped spread the word (knitterbunny AT gmail DOT com).

You can tweet me @KnitterBunny, facebook me at knitterbunny, pin me (Knitter Bunny), flickr me (Knitter Bunny), or whatever social media phenom you like best.  Each mention gives you one entry.  What am I giving away?  A copy of each knitting pattern in my shop, plus any tatted item in the Etsy shop.

You have from today, May 25, until Saturday May 31 at 12am PST to help me spread the word about the contest, my patterns, and my shop.

PS. Open to my international friends too!

Tiny Fall Down

Well, you see, Yarn Garden is closing. They announced last Tuesday that all yarn was 50% off. I thought about going on Wednesday, but between one thing and another, I didn’t go until Friday. By that point the shop was pretty cleaned out.

I did find a few skeins of self striping and self patterning yarns. I make Christmas socks as gifts for 3 people each year, so this should keep me for 4 years. lol
