Sock Hunter Episode 71: Urban Socks

While my travels do take me to some exotic locales in search of socks, occasionally I am surprised by the appearance of socks in a more mundane location. I like a spot of walking in the park now and again. A little walkabout never hurt anyone, right? It was a fine night for stretching my legs. Pleasantly warm, but not over warm, a bit breezy, and the setting sun streaked the horizon with pink.

Being an avid sock hunter, my camera is never far from my side, so when I spotted a lovely specimen down the trail, I immediately switched to “sock hunter” persona.

Approaching socks in the open is always tricky. The goal being a clear shot at the quarry, it is essential to move slowly and warn off any passers-by. The number of shots that have been ruined by some random person approaching my quarry . . . well, we just won’t speak of that.

Luckily, I was able to approach the socks in question, while maintaining my anonymity amongst the landscape. I do so love it when walkabouts turn into sock hunts. This one was a plum. The pair happily sat long enough for me to snap a nice little shot before leaping away. So, I present to you, my loyal fans, the rare *Cable Stripes Socks. And with that pronouncement, I must be off. Until next time, this is your Sock Hunter, signing off.

*Striped Cables Socks, just a basic 2 over 2 cable with a 2 stitch break between cables, ONline Supersocke 6-ply, US 1 Hiya Hiya DPNs
