At some point I will have this shawl pattern available for purchase, and take better pictures of it. 🙂 Right now it’s finished, the charts are done, but I haven’t put the pattern together or had someone test knit it. My goal with this little bit of love was to use 1, and only 1, skein of Malabrigo Lace. I love Malabrigo, but hate having leftover yarn from a second skein.
My stitch patterns are based on two Estonian Lace Stitches, a version of Liblikakiri (butterfly) and a half-drop leaf stitch. Neither one is quite the same as the original, but both are instantly recognizable.
Pattern: Liblikakiri Shawl (my own)
Yarn: Malabrigo Lace in color Pagoda Red, 470 yards, 100% Merino Wool
Needle: US 4 Hiya Hiya Interchangeable Circulars
Anyone interested in test knitting this? I will warn you that it is not for an inexperienced lace knitter. There is patterning on both sides in the butterfly section and the nupps must be executed carefully to keep them uniform and round. Drop a note in the comments or send me an email (knitterbunny AT gmail DOT com) if you might like to test knit this shawl.
We spent some time wandering around Old Downtown Scottsdale. There are some lovely little shops, cute restaurants, and kitschy tourist type things.
More fun yet to come.
