I hope your Christmas (or holiday) was filled with family, friends, good food, and a little knitting.

Spread a Little Cheer
Posted in Uncategorized on December 24, 2009 | 2 Comments »
You know you’d like a pan of fresh cinnamon rolls for Christmas, too.
I already dropped off my first pan or this picture would be more impressive. lol
Recipe from the Pioneer Woman. Though I changed up the icing by mixing cream cheese with powdered sugar, extra milk, and a tablespoon of real maple syrup. [...]
Ok, Seriously!

I made a disgusting pot of separated, not really toffee, but it was supposed to be toffee, GLOP this morning. See, I had this great idea that I should make toffee for my family and friends for Christmas. You know, more handmade than store bought since the funds are rather slim this year.
So, I set [...]
Have a Dickens of a Christmas
Posted in Uncategorized on December 7, 2009 | 2 Comments »
My Lacers group was asked to demonstrate at the local Dickens of a Christmas again this year. I was bound and determined to have a nice period correct outfit, so my sewing machine and I made peace.
I think it turned out just fine, even if we did have a few knock down drag out fights.
This [...]

Curled Up

I couldn’t resist a picture of Beau. He looked so cute all curled up on his bed. He even has his own pillow.
I threw in this photo too, just to prove that he is a well loved puppy. Do you think he has enough toys?
Hat 1 for Christmas

Not too bad, right? A nice squishy hat for someone for Christmas. It’s Knit Picks Swish Bulky, though I don’t remember the color names. I used US 10 1/2 Clover bamboo DPNs and the basic hat pattern from Ann Budd’s The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns.
The question is, what combination do I [...]
Midnight in the Heartland Shawl

Well, I ran out of yarn again. I think I knit one more repeat of Chart 2 than I should have. That would be 5 repeats instead of 4 repeats and as a result I ran out of yarn for the third chart. In the end, I cut six rows from Chart 3 in order [...]
This Lace is Getting Me Down
Posted in Uncategorized on September 7, 2009 | 1 Comment »
Seriously. I think I may have overloaded a little on the lace. Gail, then Minttumaari-huivi, then the Kryptonite Spider Net poured off my needles. I promptly cast on for Aquila (another Ulla pattern), Percy, and the Heartland Lace Shawl.
It was fine at first, but now I feel a sweater calling to me. I just keep [...]
Puzzled

This is sort of a rant-y post, so I’ll warn you now.
Last night, after I had posted all of my lovely pieces with their ribbons, I decided to check the scorecards on the back of my tags. This is the first year that they’ve had scorecards at the State Fair and I was curious to [...]
