Mitered Crosses Blanket

I am calling this one finished for now. Although there is a very good chance that I will add to this after State Fair. The squares are so easy and addictive. They make great “take-along” projects. Plus, I love my color combination.

So, The Stats, for now:

Yarn: Cascade 220 Heathers in Aspen Heather (5 balls), Summer Sky Heather (2 balls), and Rainier Heather (2 balls)
Needle: US 6 Hiya Hiya Circulars
Pattern: Mitered Crosses Blanket by Kay Gardiner
Mods: I made 12 mitered squares instead of 10, and omitted the 1/2 squares of garter stitch.

I considered just whipstitching the squares together, but I didn’t like the effect. Even though I didn’t want to pick-up all of the stitches required to 3-needle bind off, in the end I followed the pattern as written.

  1. Very, very nice. Might have to give that one a go myself.
