Sleeves? Frogged. :(

This Beaverslide yarn is soft in a way that I’m not used to. I don’t know if I can describe it. It has a loft and squishyness that reminds me of denim cotton, yet I know that it is wool and a touch of mohair. It’s unlike any other yarn I have [...]

Desperation has taken over. I’ve been on the hunt for socks for some time. My flush luck of the last few months has given out and, though the weather is warming, sock sightings have been few and far between. If not for the occasional scraps of yarn left in the yard, I [...]

Baby You’re Mine

In all of your lovely cable-y goodness.

I wasn’t sure that the metal buttons would look good, but after I sewed them on I decided that I really like them.

Baby Yours sweater by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, knit in Dream in Color Smooshy’s Gothic Rose on size 4 needles, I would knit this sweater again. It’s an [...]

A Little Stash Enhancement

I fell off the wagon, again.  You see, Chris at Briar Rose Fibers has a 10% off coupon on Ravelry until the end of the month for her luscious colorways.  With all of the items I’ve been planning, I couldn’t resist getting a sweater’s worth of yarn to play with.

It’s just so intriguing and the [...]

Laminaria

Finished yesterday.  The bind off took almost an hour.  The pinning went really fast compared to my other shawls.

I really like the coloring and the gradation in this shawl, but it’s hard to capture.

I do worry that the color obscures the stitch pattern some.

It’s done though, and it’s large.  Of course, we all know how [...]

Decisions, Decisions

I added some pictures to help you help me decide.
This was on sale last week. It’s Beaverslide, 90% Merino, 10% Mohair, 241 yards, color Galcier Heather. I have seven skeins. Originally, I thought I would use this for yet another “Fine Fleece” sweater.

Then I started thinking about State Fair. [...]

So, I was wandering around Bed, Bath, & Beyond the other night looking for mixing bowls.  As I was perusing some of the other non-kitchen sections of the store, I came across some trouser hangers.  Careful contemplation of the hangers gave me an interesting idea.  What if I could hang up all of my scarves?  [...]

Staghorn Fini

This sweater took rather longer than I intended, but I am happy to say that my seaming skills have improved considerably.  I’m almost looking forward to the next sweater I put together.   On to the details!
Yarn: Cascade 220 color 2401, 7 skeins with about 1/3 leftover
A nice workhorse of a yarn with a wide [...]

Getting Closer

Two sleeves. You know, the customary amount.
I didn’t have too much trouble with them, but I did notice that the double moss stitch doesn’t match on the left side of the sleeves.

However, by the time I noticed it, I didn’t want to rip back. So, I just kept knitting. With [...]

Still Working on Staghorn

Front finished.  Sleeves on the needle.  With any luck I won’t have to buy any more yarn.  It’s not quite looking like that will work though.  I keep watching the yarn winding off my balls as I knit the sleeves.  It’s making me a little bit anxious.
In other news, I have successfully primed the room [...]
