Snow!

We had a real honest to goodness snow last night.  Not the little flurries that we had a few weeks ago.  When I woke up this morning there was snow covering all of the trees, the bushes, and the grass.

Yesterday it was near fifty degrees here.  I opened up the barn, cleaned all of the [...]

Well, maybe not. I do have pictures of the Trellis and Pear scarf in a tree though.  It’s made with Angora too, so technically there is sort of a rabbit with pears in a tree.

The color is a lovely semi-solid called Blueberry Mist.  I used almost the entire skein with maybe two yards [...]

Kearsarge: Conquered

Knit with Crystal Palace Panda Silk, a bamboo, merino, and silk blend on US 5 and US 3 needles. I didn’t make any modifications to the pattern because I’m still learning about sweater construction. I’m not sure I could have modified it if I wanted to!

The fabric is lovely. It’s soft and [...]

Little Project Kick!

At least that’s what I’m calling it.  I can’t seem to stop casting on and binding off little projects.  I finished a scarf last night in Malabrigo Worsted Oceanos.  It’s lovely and warm and squishy.  I can’t wait to wear it.

Based on the Scruchable scarf, it’s an easy K2P1 repeat with a selvedge stitch on [...]

Some Finished Baby Items

A Baby Bib O’ Love in Key Lime Pie Peaches and Creme.  I just made a long tie instead of the two ties.  I had to add on a little bit in a second color because I ran out of yarn.

A baby sweater in Dream in Color Classy Blue Lagoon.

Both gifts for friends, one a [...]

Every sock hunter enjoys finding socks about them.  When the socks make you laugh with their antics as well, it has been a particularly good sock hunt. These socks were happily dancing in my bushes.  Twisting and turning, bouncing from my sidewalk into the bushes and back again.  Who can resist taking a picture of [...]

Visitors

Not exactly the kind you think of having, but interesting none the less. Beau was quivering, watching this buck. He was quite upset when I promptly sent him inside. I snapped these first pictures on the deck as I was walking to the rabbit barn.

I snuck out the back door of the rabbit [...]

Kearsarge is partially seamed.  Whoo!  Only three seams left, plus the plackets and neckband.  I can’t wait to try this on.  Not to mention that I managed to knit the whole sweater with 10 balls of Crystal Palace Panda Silk.  I didn’t even have to buy extra yarn. I will admit to you that the [...]

To Canada and Back

All in one day.  Work thing.  Quick trip.  Terribly exhausted from all of the driving.  I accomplished what I needed to, and did not have any problems with the customs officers.  (Hello you grouchy young woman and grouchy middle-aged man!  Try smiling a little!!!) No pictures, as I was only in Canada for about two hours.
Front done [...]

Starting Kearsarge

Sunday, as I was casting about for a project to work on, I decided it was the perfect time to start Kearsarge.  I finished the back Monday night and started the front.  It’s coming along, but I thought I would share the completed back for now.

This is knit on US 3 (the edge) and US [...]
