A sock hunter, while on vacation, is always excited to see the native socks of his or her borrowed homeland. Such illustrious socks as the statuesque *Clessidra happened to wander ‘cross my path this weekend whilst on an outing into the countryside. I happened upon a long abandoned garden where this pair were happily sunning themselves amongst the mint and clover.
Delightedly, I snapped a picture before they turned startled toes towards the click click of my camera. It took but a moment more before the socks were smartly skipping across the field. I marveled at my good fortune and my luck in bringing my camera along while I sauntered.
While I had hoped to take more detailed photographs of the gorgeous cable wending its way up the sock’s back, it was not meant to be. I have hopes of seeing a pair again on my travels. With great frivolity and eagerness, this is your Sock Hunter signing off and continuing to enjoy her vacation.
*Louet Gem in Neptune, 3.10 skeins, US 1 Hiya Hiya Steel DPNs, Clessidra from Knitty, knee highs sized for me, women’s size 9. I had wildy different row gauge, but chose to ignore it which made my socks less elegant than the original Clessidra socks, but they fit well and I like them so that’s all that matters. ![]()
