I’ve been pondering lately. As long time readers of my blog will know (do I even have readers that haven’t been with me for most of my blogging journey?) I tend to show only the finished object. Part of this is due to the rapid rate that I finish my smaller projects. It seems a bit silly to me to show a WIP photo for something that I finish in two to four days. Sometimes I throw in a WIP photo for larger items, the shawls and sweaters that take me months to finish. Of course, if I would knit fewer small items in between, then I would finish the larger ones faster. lol
Part of my thought related to the smaller objects is that I don’t want to show “spoiler” pictures before I write my Sock Hunter episodes. I love writing the Sock Hunter entries because I can imagine and pretend and bring a bit of fiction to the blog. I like to make it enjoyable and entertaining to read on occasion. Although it can get interesting when I start talking about myself.
So, if you could answer the following few questions for me, I would really appreciate it. I know this is my blog, but you are all my friends and I like to keep in touch with you.
- Do you like the Sock Hunter episodes? Or do they bore you?
- Would you like to see more WIP photos? Or are you “ok” with only seeing WIP photos for the larger items?
- Do you think it’s about time for a contest?
Hmmm, I just threw that last one in there, didn’t I? lol

The Sock Hunter episodes thrill and scare me at the same time. Thrill because I love seeing and reading about the socks. Scare because I can’t get over how damn fast you knit them!!
I’m OK sans WIPs. Unless you want to show us a couple of rabbits doin’ the nasty so that when you show us finished baby bunny FOs, we know how they got here
Ha ha!
I’m with Bezzie - you MUST be knitting in your sleep or have those bunnies clicking on needles, it’s almost freakish. Keep the episodes going - if you like doing it, who cares what others like, right????
There is never NOTa good time for a contest.
So when is your next road trip here. End of this month - boys get tubes in ears and I am irrationally believing that life will get easier
1) I love the Sock Hunter — just wouldn’t be the same if we saw the “prey” out in the wild doing stuff on their own.
2) Big WIPS = good. Bigger the better.
3) Yup.
I would say I’m pretty new to your blog, and I enjoy your sock hunter episodes. And if you enjoy them, then all the more reason to keep writing them.
I love seeing finished pictures of small knits. I wouldn’t expect you to stop every day to take pics of wips that you know you would be finished with in hours, so I think you have a great balance, pics of wips on larger items works great.
And YES, I’m all for a contest (make it an easy one though)
MORE WIPS PHOTOS!!!! More PUPPY photos
and yes of COURSE a contest!
sock hunter is definitely more fun than “here is my 5093857th pair of socks.” : )
i don’t show many WIP photos, either, because i’m not usually working on anything really big… so i don’t see any problem with it. do what you prefer, you know?
contests are always good!
I love your sock hunter posts. They are so much fun to read and it’s such a creative way to show off your finished socks. In progress photos are nice but I too have a habit of not showing to many of my wips because I either finish them too fast or I realize I don’t like the particular project and rip it out. Contests are fun so I’d have to say yes to that one.
The Sock Hunter is always welcome!!
The sock hunter episodes are always fun. WIP photos are fine if they aren’t the socks. Definitely to the contest.
I like the sock hunter episodes, but hey — it’s YOUR blog. You should do what YOU like. I like WIP, but I agree, you have at least elves knitting to get down what you get done in terms of knitting (or are they working on the job and in school for ya’?
I quintuple, double, treble…okay I am confused, everything that everyone else has said.
Done swatch avec Crochet Hook, have ruled out timewasters, what would you like to do? Have me mail everything over so you can see how they go with what you have in person, or send photo and ‘take a punt’ on what you see, then go have me pick up what you need…?!
Gx
Yep, what they said. Only, more bunnies. Bunny sex is ok, too, I guess.
1) Love the sock hunter episodes. They keep me at the edge of my seat.
2) Would like to see WIP picts, but totally understand why you don’t. All the time that it takes to get a nice WIP pict. then down loading, ect takes up a lot of knitting time.
Throw in more baby bunny pictures and I am one happy camper.
3) Of course it is time for a contest. When isn’t it a good time for a contest?
I like your Sock Hunter eps but do whatever makes YOU happy. ;o)
