Wing of the Swan Shawl
October 20, 2007 by knitterbunny
It is finished. Done. Blocked to within an inch of its life. Copious notes kept, and a new color ready to be skeined to check myself. Stats below.
Yarn: Alpaca With a Twist Fino, 875 yds plus an ootch of a second skein, 70% Baby Alpaca, 30% Silk
Needles: US Size 4 Susan Bates 24 inch circular needle
Pattern: My own, cobbled together from Miriam’s advice and stitch patterns in heirloom knitting and Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury
I will be altering the pattern a bit to accommodate the changes that I want to make. There are a few too many rose repeats for me, not enough of the dragon scales in the second section, and I want to clean up the center panel a bit to make it pop more.

Wow, that’s just beautiful! What an amazing feat, to knit and design that shawl!
Make all the modifications you want. That won’t negate the fact that THIS is a beautiful shawl. Simply beautiful.
