Sock Hunter Episode 11: Migrating Socks
September 20, 2007 by knitterbunny
It has been a most trying afternoon. Sock pictures hang on the walls around me, yarn dribbles from the basket at my feet, yet my camera remains motionless. The Sock Hunter is feeling a bit off today. There have been so few sock sightings as of late that I’m beginning to wonder if they’ve all migrated elsewhere. Migration! Aha!
No wonder my sock sightings have been so few and far between, the socks must be migrating to colder weather. It makes such sense, it is September after all, the end of summer, the entrance to fall. I shall grab my camera and enthusiastically hunt for my next pair of socks. Surely if they are migrating I will be able to find at least one pair!
. . .
It’s late afternoon and I have had very little luck. Even though I suspect the socks of migrating, I fear that sock hunting will be a bit thin around here for the next several months.
. . .
It seems that at my lowest point in sock hunting, a pair always appears. After a very unsuccessful hunt, I wandered back inside amongst my photographs and happened to glance out the window.
Socks! In my tree! Lovely *Fern socks and a striking pair to boot! In my haste I managed to snap only one picture before the socks were gone. Still, there is hope again in this sock hunter’s heart. Even migrating, inclement weather, and a broken camera cannot keep me from my socks. This is your Sock Hunter, signing off until next time.
*Panda Cotton socks knit in the Fern colorway, K3P3 ribbing, stockinette leg and foot, Slip stitch heel, standard four point toe, US 1 Steel Hiya Hiya needles

Ooo! Freakin’ cool color!!! #11! One more pair and you’ve got a pair a month for 2007!
