Hello Fiber, Want to Come Home With Me?
September 18, 2007 by knitterbunny
Mmmm, yes some of it did. A little Border Leicester, some Borderdale, a touch of Lincoln locks, a squishy 4 oz. bundle of Merino/Silk, and to top it all off, a wee bag (2 oz.) of Ingeo. So many fun things to try. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it all.
Beth, the ever gracious owner of the Spinning Loft, met me on Friday night to help me with some desperately needed fiber acquisition. (It’s always desperate isn’t it?) I had the best time digging around in her shop checking out cashmere, buffalo, silk, and all manner of wools, not to mention some alpaca and llama, plus soysilk, ingeo, and bamboo!
She has so much packed into her shop, it’s like walking into your favorite antique shop, every time you find something new that you missed before. I felt like I was seeing everything in the shop and then Beth would point out a fiber I hadn’t seen or a spindle that I glossed over. It would be very easy to sit in a pile of fiber in that shop all day and never notice the passage of time.
Here’s a parting shot for you, with more in my Flickr account. And in case you’re wondering, she does open the shop additional hours by appointment. Call her, go, get high on fumes.
PS, I missed getting a shot of the wall o’ fleece. Yes, you heard that right, WALL o’ fleece.

Yummy look at all that fibery goodness. You picked out some lovely things. It would have been terribly hard for me too.
Hey, we can always use more fiber in our diets, right?
Ok, that’s all fine and pretty…but…where is your palooza post????? You know we are all dying to read your version of events!
All those fibers look great! How wonderful to live close to a shop that sells fiber!
