Itching to Cast On
September 12, 2007 by knitterbunny
Seriously. I walked outside yesterday morning and it was blessedly cool. It was so cool out that I immediately thought “sweater!” In fact, I was so consumed with the idea of knitting a sweater that I went straight to my stash and dug out some Cascade 220.
At this point, I was stumped. I bought the yarn intending to knit a sweater. I wanted to knit a sweater (we’re ignoring the fact that I already have a sweater on the needles). I had the yarn in my hand, but I didn’t know what pattern I wanted to knit. Cue music. I went to Ravelry and actually used it to search for a pattern instead of just admiring all of my pretty yarn. lol
After checking out the sweaters that several other knitters had made using Cascade 220, debating the merits of each, and deciding between a cardigan and a pullover, I finally settled on Celtic Dreams from Inspired Cable Knits by Fiona Ellis. The best part? I already own the book.
I am, however, resisting casting on until I finish at least one project currently on the needles. We should have a finished object soon at this rate. ![]()

Wait wait… celtic icon?! That’s been on my to-do list forever!! Man, if you start maybe I will
Yes the weather has made a turn for the better for sure. I have that book too. I love to drool over all the pretty pictures. One day I will finally knit something from it.
Waiting until you finish a project? What a quaint idea. lol. What did you name your boy fish?
that’s on my ‘to knit someday’ list - can’t wait to follow your progress! :o)
When the weather gets cool I always think of knit sweater. The one you chose will be beautiful!
