A sock hunter should be prepared for anything, yet on Day 6 of my quest for the rare and beautiful *Uzume socks, I was surprised to find them, not in the trees that they favor so much, but on the ground rolling in the grass. This shouldn’t have surprised me so much as they do terribly enjoy a good roll after a nice soaking rain, but my sock hunting senses can still be shocked at times.
This pair seemed especially happy and well-fed as they were larger than the usual Uzume’s and I was pleased to think that they might contribute to a rebound of population.
The detail in this picture of their stitches is astonishing. I particularly enjoy the small floral patterning on the leg.
I must be off, there are more socks begging my attention as I write, until we meet again, this is the Sock Hunter, signing off.
