One of my entries for the State Fair this year is the Mountain Peaks Shawl. I ran into a bit of a problem after completing the first chart three times. You see, to compensate for the yarn that I was using, and to make the fabric that I was envisioning, I decided to go down two needle sizes (from a 5 to a 3). This, of course, changed the overall dimensions of the shawl and I was fine with that, but I didn’t acount for exactly how much smaller it was going to be. After ample consideration, I decided to knit the first chart one more time and then follow the directions from there. If my calculations were correct, then I would knit four extra border points as well to adjust for the extra set of patterns.
So far, so good, the shawl is coming along well, the pattern looks lovely, and I can’t wait to have this finished and blocking.

Wow, that looks amazing! You have beautiful stitch markers, too!

You don’t have a shop that does finishing? Ask them woman!! I bet they just haven’t thought about it yet. Come up to Chicago for Stitches, I’ll be there. They should have quite a few finishing classes available.
I am sure you could pick it up quick, you do such beautiful work!
What a gorgeous color!
Oooh! That is so pretty. I hope you have the dimension thingy worked out. Gorgeous!!
