Oh, MY! What a whirlwind of a weekend. As most of them go, it went by entirely too fast. I had a fabulous time with all of the knitters. It was like being with family (only one that totally understood you buying yarn, you know, because).
Saturday I met up with the fantabuloso (my word, hee hee) Erin in Marshall, MI where, sadly, In Sheep’s Clothing was open for its last day. Scoring loot was fun, but not at the expense of this cute little shop. My purchases there were huge somewhat restrained and resulted in the little pile below. I was able to find some AWAT Fino in a lovely pink (for my knitting gnome swap partner) and a ruby red, Sleeping Dragon in Pool, and two balls of Ella Rae meant for baby sweaters for friends. I also found a Louet dyeing kit on sale and some patterns. (Yay! Patterns!)
We even spent some time walking around Marshall enjoying the fresh air, the shops, and the scenery. I found some pretty flowers and some interesting shops. (Statuary, right on Main St. It struck me as funny.)
Finally, after a delightful late lunch at Winston’s Pub, we went our separate ways for the evening. Erin to her home and me to the bunny show. A lovely bunny show, that ran a little longer than anticipated, but was still an excellent show. After crashing for 6 hours, I hauled my poor tired butt out of bed (sympathy? anyone? so what if I brought it on myself? lol) and made for Threadbear where I was meeting Karen, Sarah Lou, Sarah, Erin, Nia, and Amby.
What’s that? Amby didn’t make it? Oh, you’re right. Poor thing had to hold her sister’s hand all the way into the airport to put her on the plane to go on her honeymoon. Poor Amby, knitting would have been much more fun on Sunday after all of the work she did as matron of honor. (Though, seriously, would anyone call her a matron????)
We enjoyed ourselves immensely and even found some new friends like Jackie, who dyed the gorgeous yarn that Sarah is using on her big coat thingamajig (what was it again?), and Renee and her mother who came over to chat and hang out just because they love us (well, Sarah Lou anyway, who has an awesome picture on her blog of her and Renee).
After some very deliberate shopping, for some yarn for a specific pattern (We Call Them Pirates Hat and Mittens anyone?), and a little Lacey Lamb yarn jumping into my basket because Oh, So, Soft! I also had to pick up a size 5 and 6 addi lace needle. I’ll give you my very ego-inflated opinion of them someday when I’ve knit a few more projects with them.
Our little group then sat, knit, and chatted for quite a while until it was very sadly time to go our separate ways. Karen and Sarah Lou headed to Melted Memories for ice cream. Sarah went to yet another group of knitters for even more fun. Renee and her mother headed home.
However, (dun dun dun) Nia, Erin, and myself decided to spend some time in Old Town enjoying the scenery, the shops, and Annie, Erin’s owner (aren’t all dogs like that?).
Isn’t Annie pretty? Oh, so pretty. Annie was walking with quite the swagger by the time we finished praising her.
She was also a lovely companion as the three of us strolled the streets checking out some fun shops and the little farmer’s market.
It was a sad sad Knitter Bunny who finally left all of her friends to head home that evening. I’m looking forward to planning another get together with the knitbloggers one day in the future. In the meantime. I have knitting to do! My entries for State Fair are due July 29 and I still have five entries to finish! Eeek! Must. Slave. Over. Knitting. Needles. Now.

I’m in for the next roving knit blogger meet up.
Great photos, Kelli! It was a yummy day, wasn’t it!
Sounds like a great time. Wish I could have been there.
Sorry we missed you as we were having another fiber-infused and wine event on the waterfront - but another event is in the planning works….
Looks like you all had a great time and you brought home some nice fibery goodies to boot!
I just started using the Addi lace needles on the MS3 stole and so far I’m loving them.
Looks like lots of fun!
Oh my Gosh!! It’s Sarah in the picture. I haven’t seen her since Stitches last year!! Looks like you had a great time.
