Secret Project Revealed
June 30, 2007 by knitterbunny
This post brought to you courtesy of the time stamp delay on WordPress. :) I’m in Michigan today, but I couldn’t resist putting up a little post. If you read this before noon on July 1 and have the chance, come visit with me at Threadbear in Lansing. :)
I’ve mentioned it a few times on the blog, always in passing, “I’m working on a shawl.” No mention of a pattern or yarn or color. Now, it’s time to reveal what I’ve been working on. Mind you, it isn’t finished yet, as you can see by the needles, but I do love how it is progressing.
This is my Wings of the Swan Shawl. Designed by me, with a slightly modified Wing of the Swan center panel and a slightly modified Rosebud pattern in the side panels. This is gray Alpaca With a Twist Fino and much like a swan, when this shawl is blocked it will bloom from a drab little cygnet into a beautiful swan.
I still haven’t decided on my edging, but I can’t wait to finish this.
I’ve also been utilizing my pearl stitchmarkers from Zero etsy, created by Aija of Sockpron. They make me so happy while I’m knitting.
Sadly, I’m busy working on my entries for State Fair and I won’t be able to finish this until after I get a few other projects done.

You know I’m partial to swan stories
Have fun on Sunday!!! I have a little pout in my typing as I say this!!!
Your shawl is so beautiful-maybe you should publish this a pattern!!!!!!
See you in August-
Wow! I can’t wait to see it blocked.
Hope you have a great time this weekend.

The shawl looks great so far. I too can’t wait to see it in all it’s blocked glory
Love that sheepy knitting bag!
Very pretty!
It was very nice to meet you today and watch you knit that beautiful lace thingamajig! I am still trying to figure out how to make a little sheep bag like you have….quite fascinating!
Very cool and I have the same shaped knitting bag but in a different color.
yay for new fiberfriends… reading back it occurs to me that you were the force behind yesterday’s meet-up. hooray for that! it was fun to meet you and i hope we can do it again some time! this shawl is totally gorgeous, as was the blue/green one, yesterday.
Oh wow, Kelli. That lace is gorgeous. I look forward to seeing it all finished and blocked. The simple gray will add to the beauty.
Wow, I have almost the same stitch markers from the same seller. Aren’t they beautiful. I’ll be looking out for the finished lace piece. So far I’ve been too much of a wuss to do lace.
