Karen tagged me for that 7 Random Things meme virus that’s going around. Darn you, Karen.
I never do these meme things, but I will fill this one out, only because I like Karen, and I am not tagging anyone else. And I may not have seven random things, so you get what you get.
1. I do not like microwave popcorn or movie theater popcorn. If it isn’t fresh popcorn kernels on the stove, I would rather not eat it. Unless it’s kettle corn or caramel corn, but that isn’t really popcorn now is it?
2. I organize books in the bookstore. That means I straighten them and organize them if the table is messy.
3. I still have my first blankie. Blankie is in remarkably good shape, still being the proper size and color, though blankie does suffer from raveled edging and thin spots. Do NOT mock my blankie.
4. If I have a litter of baby bunnies that are too cold I have been known to stick the lot of them in my bra to warm them up until I can get them to my “bunny saver waterbeds.” Over the years I have saved about 6 dozen babies by boob warmth.
5. I hate making my bed and have on occassion gone a month or more without seriously remaking my bed. Clean sheets get put on and blankets just get piled on top. I am however, a freak about clean sheets and usually wash them once every 7 to 10 days.
6. I have accidentally consumed both raw sheep milk and raw goat milk. In both instances the person milking the sheep or goat thought it was funny to squirt some in my mouth as I was talking. I was not so amused.
7. I like to create things. Some of the creative things I have done: beading, candle making, cheese making, butter churning, caramel making, pie baking, cross stitching, knitting, spinning, crocheting, tatting, weaving, basketry, scrapbooking, poetry, short stories, theatrical plays (wrote one, acted in two), musicals (wrote one, acted in two), seven novels started, none finished, and finally flower arranging. Things I still want to try: leather crafting, tin punching, needle felting, soap making, dyeing, and many more.
Don’t forget about the latest contest. It ends Monday at 5 pm. ![]()

Yay! You did it!
I would never mock the blankie. My kids have serious blankie issues because their dad (a.k.a “the tumor”) keeps trying to take their blankies away.
i still have my first blankie, too. mine is also in very good shape except for one corner (which was always my favorite corner) where i was chewing gum and had blankie too close to my mouth and got gum all over it and had to cut off part of the corner. : )
I never, ever make the bed. I do wash the sheets. But I have a big comforter and a tall bed, and it’s a pain to make. So…I don’t. Ever.
I have #3 too!
And you’re spot on with the popcorn. Trust me, I used to make that movie theater crap for a living. Blech!
Awww, I think #4 is sweet…you’re a dedicated bunny-mama!
Oh yeah boob warmth is great. Kept my kitten there in between her feedings. She slept great and I never had to worry about her.
I some what have your #3, but mine is a pillow. Yes I still use it too. If I don’t have it the pillow feels like it is missing something. Even though the poor pillow is flat as a pancake I know if it isn’t there.
You are one crafty woman. I love to hear that others have the same passion about crafts as I do.
I wanted to pop in and thank you so very, very, very much for the great teas!!! I was completely floored when UPS dropped the package the other day. At first I thought I had lost my mind since I didn’t remember ordering any tea recently. Then I saw on the label that it was from my tea pal! I was so surprised and SO excited! You made some great choices and I can’t wait to try them all. I brewed up some of the Passion Fruit Papaya yesterday and it was heavenly. YUM!!! Thanks so much!!! I’ve been working on what I think is a pretty great package for you that I hope you will enjoy just as much as I will the tea you sent.
I once saved a kitten the same way!!!! We had a new all white kitten that came to us with pnemonia - the vet said to keep it warm all the time so I wrapped it in a knitted dishcloth and carried him for days in my bra cleveage(I have alot of that) and he lived and was our cat for about 15 years!! He even went to bed with me that way. Even when he got old he loved to sleep on my chest. We called him Booby.
